* Children’s Science Club successfully Organised “JSTS-2010”
* Hundreds of students visited the exhibition

Raigarh | Children’s Science Club, A Group of Ignited Minds has successfully Organised Science Model Exhibition at Jawahar Lal Nehru Assembly Hall in municipal corporation compound; popularly known as Town Hall, Raigarh. This Exhibition was second round of “Junior Scientist Talent Search-2010”. “JSTS-2010” is an endeavour by the club to find out the talented young children among class 6th to class 12th. It was a drive to test their scientific caliber. This competition was started one month ago in some of the selected schools of city as a pilot project. The interesting fact of the whole exercise was that there was no prize at all to attract the kids, although they participated in good numbers with a sportsman spirit in the competition. In this competition the students of Maharshi Vidya Mandir, Sanskar Public School, Carmel Convent English Medium, Govt. Multipurpose Natwar H.S. school and Swami Vivekanand H.S. School, participated and showed their concern for pollution, rain water harvesting, hazards of plastic, ecological balance etc. and  they even made models on barometer, sprinkler, electric magnet, electricity production from dam, etc..
Main Attraction of the Exhibition
Main attraction of the exhibition was a model of train made by class 10 student Ashish Banjare in which he showed the innovative thought of electricity production from wind energy. In this model he showed that when the train crosses the air the pressure of wind that blows from the upper part of the train has much kinetic energy. Using that energy he proposed to generate electricity and from that electricity the requirement of electrical needs of that compartment can be managed. In this way lots of thermal power can be saved. The whole system is even cost efficient therefore it will also prove an asset for developing nations.
CSCAGIM is spreading science awareness for eight years
Informing about the “JSTS-2010” and this exhibition the club coordinator Nilamber Mishra told the press that after affiliation from VIPNET this was a major event held in the city by CSCAGIM. He told that eight years ago this club was formed inspired from the dream of a developed nation propagated by former president of nation Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The club’s name Children’s Science Club; A Group of Ignited Minds is even derived from his famous book ‘Ignited Minds’. The main objective of the club is to spread scientific awareness in the region. This region falls in Chhattisgarh-Orissa border where many mis-beliefs were so popular that odd-look women often associated with ‘Daayan’ and ‘Tonahi’; local name for witch. Although the region had a massive development in industrialization, it lacks in scientific awareness therefore academic atmosphere also suffers. He told further that the highest goal of the club is “to make this world a better place to live.” The club will celebrate 15 Oct to 14 Nov as Science Month, during which many interactive science competition will be organized.
